West Bromwich Albion striker Brown Ideye's return to international football has put on hold by what has been described as a 'minor injury'

In-form West Brom striker, Brown Ideye according to several reports have withdrawn from the Super Eagles squad undefined.

Brown Ideye's undefined, earned him a recall to the national team for the first time since 2013.

But the 26-year-old missed West Bromwich Albion's 3-0 loss at Manchester City and he has now been forced to withdraw from the squad, according to Super Eagles officials.

"A minor injury has forced Brown Ideye to pull out of the Super Eagles friendlies against Uganda and South Africa," National team spokesman Toyin Ibitoye told BBC Sport.

"It's only a minor setback for him. We all know it would have been a good return to the international fold after a long absence.

"But his health is more important. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see Ideye when the Nations Cup qualifiers start in June."

The striker took to Twitter to express his sadness over his withdrawal from the Super Eagles squad for the March freindlies.

“It is sad due to injury that am not on a flight to join my teammates and friends in Eagles camp.

“Spending quality time with my family to ease the pain in my body and heart,” Ideye wrote on Twitter.
