Brighton & Hove Albion have officially announced the signing of striker Promise David. The Canadian international joins the Seagulls on loan from Belgian Pro League runners-up Union Saint-Gilloise.
According to Sky Sports, the agreement between the two clubs includes an option to make the move permanent for a fee of £22 million. This clause will be activated upon the fulfillment of specific conditions.
David, a 25-year-old center-forward, boasts an impressive scoring record for the Brussels-based side, having netted 41 goals in 82 appearances. He played a pivotal role in their Belgian title triumph during the 2024/25 season. For the Canadian national team, the striker has earned 14 caps and scored 4 goals, including one at this summer's World Cup.
Promise David becomes Brighton's seventh new acquisition of the summer transfer window. He follows defenders Luka Vuskovic, Pascal Struijk, Costinha, and Michael Svoboda, as well as wingers Zadok Johanna and Rodrigo Rego, in joining the club.
Brighton faces a demanding schedule ahead. Tomorrow, the team will compete in a play-off for a spot in the Conference League group stage against Norwegian side Tromsø. On Sunday, they kick off their Premier League campaign with a home fixture against Aston Villa.
