Brentford vs Liverpool Lineups: Isak and Szoboszlai Return

Brentford host Liverpool at the Gtech Community Stadium in a Premier League matchday seven clash. The Bees have enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign and remain unbeaten so far. The Merseysiders suffered their first defeat under Andoni Iraola a week ago, falling 3-0 against Manchester City. However, the Reds bounced back emphatically with a resounding 6-3 away win over LASK in the Champions League. Heading into today's game, Liverpool sit one point behind Brentford, having failed to beat them last season.

The major team news for Liverpool sees Alexander Isak and Dominik Szoboszlai return to the starting lineup, while Cody Gakpo settles for a place on the bench. The trio missed the last two fixtures after picking up knocks during the international break. Andoni Iraola has made six changes in total from the midweek trip to Austria, with Virgil van Dijk, Milos Kerkez, Alexis Mac Allister, and Victor Munoz also returning to the XI. Ryan Gravenberch misses out through suspension.

Sepp van den Berg returns to the Brentford starting eleven this afternoon, stepping in for the injured Janick Schuster in central defence to make his first appearance of the season against his former club. Mathias Jensen and Dango Ouattara also start, with El Hadji Diouf and Kevin Schade named among the substitutes alongside Mamadou Sangare. Igor Thiago leads the line in attack.
