Okagbare jumped to a (6.77m) second place finish in the long jump event at the Istvan Gyulai Memorial in the Hungarian city of Székesfehérvár on Tuesday, July 4.

With that result, the Delta State-born athlete secured qualification to the 16th IAAF World Championships.

Before Tuesday, Okagbare was struggled to hit the 6.75m entry standard set by the IAAF for the long jump.

She, however, gave a strong performance in Hungary on Tuesday to jump 6.77m which gave her the qualification.

She still maintains a personal best of 6.52 which she jumped in Eugene, Oregon, the United States in June.

Okagbare has an IAAF World Championship bronze medal in high jump which she won in Moscow Russia in 2013.

The high jumper cum sprinter had already secured qualification for 100m and 200m at next month’s championships.
