    Born Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun on the 21 of October 1987 was a Nigerian rapper who passed away on the 22 of April 2010. He was born into a polygamous home heads by his father Comrade Olaniyi Abolaji Olanipekun in Alagbado, Lagos. Dagrin attended Community High School, Egbado College however his attempts to get into university were not successful due to financial and family issues. Despite the hardship, Dagrin took a course at a computer in Lagos. He decided to push his music and released his debut album ‘Still on the Matter’ inn 2006; however it didn’t catch on as he expected but he kept trying till he got the recognition her deserved.

    Best known for:

    Dagrin was popular for rapping in his native tongue, Yoruba and addressed his ghetto lifestyle and heritage. He inspired other artists to rap in their native tongue. In 2009 he released his album ‘C.E.O. (Chief executive Omota English: Chief Executive Gangster)’ which one him the award best rap album of the year. Dagrin was signed unto his own record label Misofunyin Entertainment. Dagrin inspired other artists in the music industry today, most prominent of them all being Olamide.

    A film of his Da Grins life was released in April 2011 called  Ghetto Dreamz, also In April 2012, Video director GINI released a The one-hour plus documentary 'Remembering Dagrin', to mark the second anniversary of the rapper's death.

    Personal life of Dagrin

    While he was alive he dated his girlfriend Chichi for 7years. The rapper was involved in an unfortunate motor accident and passed on eight days after at Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LUTH)
