Athletic Bilbao secured a convincing home victory over Getafe. The hosts moved onto 12 points to cement their mid-table position, while Getafe extended their woeful away run, having yet to score on the road.

Bilbao now sit on 12 points and remain firmly in the mix in a tightly contested mid-table pack. They still have a match in hand from matchday 8 against Rayo Vallecano, which was abandoned and postponed following first-half protests by the Madrid side's fans.

While Getafe remain unbeaten at home this season, they have failed to collect a single point or even score a goal on their travels, lingering just one point above the relegation zone.
