Betis Secures First New Signing

Real Betis and Fluminense have reached an agreement for the transfer of Facundo Bernal.

The Uruguayan midfielder becomes the first new signing for "Los Verdiblancos" this transfer window, penning a contract until 2031.

Facundo Bernal was born in Montevideo on August 21, 2003. He began his career at Defensor Sporting, making his professional debut in 2021. With Defensor Sporting, he won the Uruguayan AUF Cup in both 2022 and 2023.

After four seasons with the Montevideo club, he joined Fluminense, where he spent the last three seasons.

Bernal has also been a regular fixture in Uruguay's youth national teams, and in May 2024, he made his debut for the senior national squad.
