Real Betis secured their sixth La Liga victory of the season with a commanding 5-2 home win over Osasuna. The result sees Manuel Pellegrini's side climb back above Real Madrid into third place, level on points with second-placed Atletico Madrid. For Osasuna, it was a fifth consecutive league match without a win, having lost four of those fixtures.
Betis established control from the opening whistle and built a two-goal cushion within the first half-hour. Isco broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 10th minute before Ez Abde doubled the advantage in the 31st, latching onto a pass from Cucho Hernandez to finish clinically into the near corner.
Just three minutes into the second half, Ante Budimir inadvertently turned the ball into his own net to make it three for Betis. The Croatian striker quickly redeemed himself at the correct end, however; after Hector Bellerin lost possession, Raul Garcia tried to round the keeper and the loose ball fell to Budimir, who slotted home despite Natan's desperate goal-line effort. Five minutes later, Raul Garcia de Haro pulled another back for Osasuna with a fine close-range volley from Alejandro Catena's cross.
In the 67th minute, Isco grabbed his second goal of the match, capitalizing on defensive chaos inside the visitors' penalty area to restore the hosts' two-goal cushion.
Jose Antonio Morante sealed the emphatic victory six minutes into stoppage time, finding the net with a 25-yard strike that took a deflection off an opposing defender.
