“By the way, Stoichkov, you are my hero. Stoichkov is the best player I have ever watched,” declared the 2014 World Champion, placing the Bulgarian star above all other great figures in the game.

Beyond his personal compliment to Stoichkov, Schweinsteiger also shared his analysis of the ongoing international tournament. He expressed regret that his native Germany is already out of contention for the title and named the two teams he sees as the main contenders for the trophy. According to him, Spain is currently playing the most dynamic football, but France's squad possesses the highest individual quality, making both teams his primary favorites.

The German also commented on Argentina's performance, praising the team for the character shown in their dramatic comeback against Egypt. Schweinsteiger emphasized that despite an incredibly tough match, the 'Albiceleste' demonstrated an incredible will to win, and with the powerful support of their fans, they are capable of overcoming any opponent.
