Barcelona Aim to Bounce Back Against Struggling Alaves

In Matchday 11 of La Liga, Barcelona welcome Alaves to the Spotify Camp Nou. Following an impressive start to the campaign, the Catalans have hit a slight stumbling block with back-to-back defeats, most notably a painful loss to arch-rivals Real Madrid. They will now be desperate to bounce back and reward their home supporters with a commanding performance and plenty of goals.

Barcelona enter the contest looking to snap a two-match losing run that brought an abrupt halt to their three-game winning streak across all competitions. The Blaugrana had previously secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Getafe, followed by convincing wins against Galatasaray (4-1) in the Champions League and Real Betis (5-2) in the league. However, their momentum was disrupted by a 4-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in Europe and a 2-1 reverse in El Clasico.

Alaves, meanwhile, find themselves in a slump, winless in their last five La Liga outings. That disappointing run began with a 1-0 home defeat to Valencia and a goalless draw against Athletic Bilbao, followed by successive 2-1 losses against Atletico Madrid and Celta Vigo. Last time out, they could only muster a 1-1 draw at home to Malaga.

Barcelona hold a clear upper hand in the head-to-head record, having won four of the last five meetings between the sides, while Alaves have claimed just one victory. The Catalans secured wins of 3-1 in February 2024, 3-0 in October 2024, 1-0 in February 2025, and 3-1 in November 2025. Alaves' solitary recent triumph was a narrow 1-0 win in May 2026.

Barcelona will be targeting an immediate response on home soil following the Clasico setback. However, the hosts are dealing with significant selection issues, as Xavi Espart, Andreas Christensen, Roony Bardghji, and Dani Olmo are all sidelined through injury.

Alaves will also have to cope without the suspended Facundo Garces and the injured Mikel Rodriguez.
