US President shows public support for US female football team

President of the United States of America Barack Obama showed off support for the country's female football team playing at the FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada.

Obama took to his official Twitter account to wish the United states girls good luck ahead of last-16 victory over Colombia in Edmonton.

"Good luck Team USA – make us proud out there! #OneNationOneTeam ," Obama tweeted along with a photo of him holding the United States football jersey bearing his name and number 44.

The goodluck wish from their president certainly spurred them on as the two-time FIFA Women World Cup champions claimed a 2-0 win over Colombia on Monday, June 22.
