Ronaldo, Messi, Neuer to slug it out for FIFA Player of the Year

The 23 nominees list for the 2014 FIFA Footballer Of The Year was pruned down to a final three on Monday in Zurich.

Brazil and Barcelona star, Neymar who made the 23 man list was cut out of the final 3, including teammates Iniesta and Mascherano. However, Messi is one of the three to contest for the award he last won two years ago

Only Ronaldo made it to the top three out of a pack of six Real Madrid players selected in the initial 23 man list.

Just as Manuel Neuer is the only Germany player to be shortlisted out of a whole six that were listed.

The announcement will be made in Zurich on Wednesday, preluding the final award ceremony slated for January 12, 2015.
