The film was previously titled Avengers: Infinity War Part I. Movie directors Joe and Anthony Russo said in May this year that they planned on renaming both Avengers films, which they are directing.

“The two movies are two very different movies,” Joe Russo told Uproxx, Anthony Russo adding that the shared subtitle is “misleading.”

The Infinity War title comes from a classic 1992 comic book series where the heroes of the Marvel Universe were brought together to fight their dopplegangers created by a cosmic entity called the Magus, who wanted control of the Infinity Gauntlet.

Disney/Marvel’s undefined"  also become the highest grosser of 2016 with a worldwide total of $981.9 million.

The film overtook Disney’s “Zootopia” which held the title with $971 million since its March debut, The third highest grosser title is currently held by  Warner Bros.’ “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” with $871 million.

Recently, the film surpassed the $900 million mark to overtake "Spider-Man," "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," and "Spider-Man 3" to become the sixth highest grossing superhero movie of all time.
