The Swiss international has become the most expensive acquisition in the Birmingham club's history, with Villa reportedly paying €60 million plus an additional €10 million in add-ons. The club did not disclose the length of the 20-year-old's contract, who will wear the number 44 shirt.

Manzambi was a breakout star for Switzerland at the 2026 World Cup, contributing three goals and two assists in four appearances, despite starting only two of those matches. This stellar performance sparked a fierce bidding war for his signature, with Aston Villa ultimately outmaneuvering Newcastle. Interestingly, the Villans had previously defeated the young talent in the Europa League final, where they triumphed 3-0 over his former team. For the German side, the attacking midfielder made 58 appearances, scoring 9 goals and providing 11 assists during his two years with their senior squad.
