Quadri who was favourite for the category lost to fellow Nigerian Bode Abiodun in the round of 16 on Saturday, August 12.
Abiodun took the first game before Quadri equalised. Abiodun took the lead again after winning Game 4.

Quadri took Game 5 to make the score 3-2 before Abiodun sealed Game 6 to cause an upset.
It was a thrilling game of table tennis, one of the best of the ongoing ITTF Nigerian Open.

Quadri’s wife Ganiyat was present to watch her husband lose the game. She was said to be furious after the game.
After beating Quadri, Abiodun on Sunday, August 13 lost out to Gandhi Sarthak in the semi-final.
Gandhi won the game 4-3 to advance to the final of the men’s single final.
