Nigerian tennis star wins ITTF Africa Cup, qualifies for 2017 ITTF World Cup

Quadri on Monday won the ITTF Africa Cup which qualifies the 28-year-old for the 2017 ITTF World Cup.

Quadri recovered after losing two sets to beat Assar 4-3 in the final of the 2017 ITTF Africa in Agadir, Morocco to win the championship.
With this win, the 28-year-old has now qualified for the 2017 ITTF World Cup. Quadri played without a coach at the ITTF Africa Cup.
The Nigerian was impressive in the tournament where he beat Algeria’s Naim Karali in the quarter-finals, taking four sets from five.
In the semis, he was too much to handle for Egyptian El -Beiali Mohamed.

In the women’s category, Nigeria’s Funke Oshonaike lost to Egypt’s Dina Meshref in the final.
Meshref will represent Africa at the ITTF World Cup in France.
