Why Gunners wore yellow strip for Basel CL home win
Arsenal fans were surprised when the players lined up in their yellow kit for their home 2-0 win over Basel in the Champions League.
In-form forward, Theo Walcott scored a first-half brace to get all the three points against Basel.
As it is a home game, the Gunners were meant to play in their traditional red jersey but were forced to wear their second away strip by UEFA.
UEFA ruled that the Gunners’ red kit was similar to Basel’s home and away kits.
As the Swiss champions are without a third strip, the Gunners were made to wear their third kit.

On the field, Arsenal had no trouble dismantling Basel as Walcott struck twice in the first half to hand Arsenal the win.
Walcott headed in a cross from Alexis Sanchez in the seventh minute before striking into the far post after a one-two ball with Arsenal number 7 in the 26th.
