Arsenal has reportedly signed former Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 26-year-old Frenchman left the Yorkshire club last month after his contract expired. He spent seven years at Elland Road but didn't feature in a single match for Leeds last season, as Daniel Farke preferred Karl Darlow and Lukasz Pery.

Meslier underwent a medical in London yesterday before signing with Arsenal. However, Fabrizio Romano did not disclose the length of the contract.

Meslier is expected to serve as Arsenal's third-choice goalkeeper at the Emirates, behind David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga. Young national team prospect Tommy Setford will likely be loaned out to gain experience. Setford played just three minutes last season, coming on as a late substitute when the Gunners were leading Wigan 4-0 in the FA Cup fourth round.

The Frenchman departs Elland Road having made 215 appearances for Leeds, with 107 of those coming in the English Premier League.
