Arsenal have suffered another injury blow concerning one of their brightest talents, Max Dowman. The 16-year-old has withdrawn from the England Under-19 squad due to an injury and returned to London for further assessment. He featured in all three matches for the Young Lions during the international break, registering a goal and an assist. The issue stems from a heavy challenge and is not thought to be serious, but it was enough to rule him out of their final match against Belgium, which ended in a 1-0 defeat.
The news is another cause for concern for Mikel Arteta, who is already grappling with a growing list of injury problems. Prior to Dowman, Kai Havertz and Christos Tzolis both withdrew from international duty with muscle issues, while Ezri Konsa also returned to his club with a knock. Arsenal host Leeds on Saturday in their Premier League Matchday 6 clash.
