They started brightly and dominated possessions before their goals.

Mesut Ozil scored Gunners first from close range after Olivier Giroud nodded a pass from Aaron Ramsey down into his path.

Ozil quickly got hold of the ball with his weaker foot and smashed in for Arsenal's first.

A second followed assisted by Aaron Ramsey who dispossessed Bournemouth defender Steve Cook to release Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The forward smashed a low drive into the other corner to score his first Premier League goal since September 2014 and his first away from home.

Bournemouth slowly got into the game and forced a series of saves from Petr Cech.

The home side saw more of the ball in the second half but Arsenal held on to grab all the points which take them to third on the table.
