An unusual and somewhat unpleasant incident unfolded during winger Brahim Díaz's press conference ahead of today's quarter-final clash between France and Morocco.
As the 'Atlas Lions' star was answering a question, he was interrupted by an argument between two attendees in the room. One of them repeatedly shouted that he had been hit by the other, although this isn't visible in videos of the incident. It turned out the dispute arose because a journalist inadvertently blocked a cameraman's lens while raising his hand to ask a question. Ultimately, a FIFA staff member intervened to de-escalate the confrontation. Díaz, for his part, took it all in stride with a smile, even though the commotion made him forget the question he was answering.
