Argentine Player's Girlfriend Experiences Bizarre Evening: "I Wonder If My Relationship Will Survive This Match"

The English footballer ultimately chose to support Marcos Senesi, who, after a dramatic late turnaround, celebrated Argentina's progression to the World Cup final.

"I grew up wearing an England shirt and had the honor of representing England, so that bond will always remain incredibly strong. But when your partner is playing one of the most important matches of his career, you naturally want him to succeed.

I will personally support Marcos and at the same time be incredibly proud to see England play on such a stage," stated Kelci-Rose Bowers before the match. She met the 29-year-old Argentine in Bournemouth, where both were based. However, from next season, Senesi will be a Tottenham Hotspur player.

Despite her allegiance to England, Bowers found herself among Argentine fans at the Atlanta stadium, though dressed in relatively neutral attire. After the match, which her boyfriend watched from the substitutes' bench, she posted on social media, describing her emotions.

"So, it's over... Of course, a bizarre experience with very mixed feelings that I won't forget anytime soon. I'm proud of how far England has come, and of course, my partner, who has advanced to the World Cup final. See you in New York," the 22-year-old footballer wrote alongside a series of photos from the stadium.

Marcos Senesi responded with a heart emoji and the comment: "I love you." Later, Kelci-Rose Bowers shared a video with the caption: "I wonder if my relationship will survive this match."

The Bournemouth Women's defender will be able to cheer on her boyfriend on Sunday in the match against Spain, where Argentina's representatives will battle for the most prestigious trophy. However, it is likely that coach Lionel Scaloni will once again not give Senesi much playing time.
