Aprilia highlight two circuits of concern in title showdown with Marc Marquez

Aprilia MotoGP technical director Fabiano Sterlacchini has pinpointed the two circuits that pose the biggest concern for the Noale marque in the final stretch of the season.

Aprilia celebrated a historic 1-2-3-4 finish at Sunday's Indonesian Grand Prix in Mandalika, and expectations are high for the RS-GP to remain competitive at Australia's Phillip Island next week. However, the subsequent rounds in Malaysia and Qatar are expected to heavily favour Marc Marquez and Ducati, according to Sterlacchini.

"It's difficult to predict. Not because I want to dodge the question, but for instance, we expected to be on the defensive in Austria, yet we had a very strong weekend there. We're putting in the work to be as prepared as possible for Malaysia and Qatar, as those are two tracks where Jorge [Martin] didn't really race last year, which makes us more cautious about them. "We believe we will be more competitive at the other venues. Valencia should be fairly neutral, though it's a track dominated by left-handers, and we all know how strong Marc is through those turns. "In Indonesia, we managed to place all of our bikes ahead of him and clawed back crucial points. It isn't time for team orders just yet; we'll give ourselves one or two more races before drawing the line and issuing them—that's simply part of the sport," Sterlacchini explained.

With five rounds left in the MotoGP campaign, Martin tops the riders' championship, holding a slender two-point cushion over Marquez. Marco Bezzecchi, who claimed victory at Mandalika on Sunday, sits third, 46 points off the summit.
