The South Americans were trailing by two goals until the 79th minute, when Messi delivered a goal and an assist to turn the tide.

“I’m running out of words to describe Messi. He’s having an incredible World Cup, and we’re trying to support him, be by his side, and enjoy every moment we spend with him,” Alvarez stated.

“We thank him for everything he does for us and for the way he treats us. He is a legend, the best player in the world and in history; he is a phenomenon,” Alvarez added to reporters after the match.
