Big boss acquires $23 million property in the US
Jack Ma, Chinese business magnate, philanthropist, founder and Executive Chairman of Alibaba Group has found himself in the news again.
Brandon Park, the 28,120-acre property worth $23 million was bought just to conserve nature.
Reports say Ma, has a deep love for nature. Evident, are the many donations to conservation concerns, in China.
Ma consistently says that he sees his wealth as a show of people’s trust in him, adding that it is a big responsibility.
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal on the purchase, Jim Wilkinson, the spokesperson for Alibaba said “Protecting the environment in China will always be Jack’s first and foremost priority, and he will continue his strong efforts here. This international land purchase reflects Jack’s belief that we all inhabit the same planet and we all breathe the same air, so we are dependent on each other for our collective future.”
Jack Ma is worth $23.9 billion, and the charitable trust which he setup in 2014, currently boasts of a $3b endowment.
The newly acquired property is located in an area protected by New York, called Adirondacks.
