Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has sent help to flood disaster victims in his home Chile with trucks of supplies.

Torrential storms have battered the whole of Chile leading to the loss of properties and displacement of familes.

The Arsenal forward who help his country to the has come to the aid of people of Tocopilla by sending two lorries filled with water, supplies and first-aid material to the affected region.

Chilean newspaper La Tercera reports that the two lorries arrived in Tocopilla on Monday, August 17 in the watchful eyes of the town’s mayor Fernando San Roman.

"He hasn’t forgotten about his land and that’s why he wanted to be involved," the Mayor told La Tarcera.

"He spoke to us in order to send aid to the people of Tocopilla.

"We initially discussed bottled water, some basic first-aid products and clothing among other things and it’s already in the region."

The forward took to his Instagram account to urge people to support the flood victims along a collage of photos of his supples.

"Good Morning; please help my people of Tocopilla in need at this difficult time. I hope that people who are responsible in solving these problems also continue helping as they have done so far and we will not forget," his post read in English.

In a previous post, while thanking the town for raising him to who is his today, he expresses grieve about the disaster in Tocoplia and promised that the two will recover like they did after an earthquake in 2007.

"I took my first steps here .. Here I learned to play football .. here are my people and my family, who saw me grow ... because where I grew up, now I am who I am. thank Tocopilla are going out again later as we did in the earthquake of 2007 ... I hope we hear all Chileans and people who are responsible for resolving these problems are of nature," (sic) he wrote.

Some family members of the player and also his representatives were also available with the distribution of the supplies.
