In an article published in A BOLA this Thursday, League president Reinaldo Teixeira had already indicated that the door would be reopened for beverages with an alcohol content below 6.0% vol. in pilot matches.

According to our newspaper's findings, the match marking this return will be Tondela-Nacional in Week 31, scheduled for the last weekend of April, with the exact kick-off time yet to be determined.

The National Republican Guard, in conjunction with the League, will permit alcohol sales at Estádio José Cardoso, under specific parameters. These include sales only until 10 minutes after kick-off, during halftime, and up to 10 minutes into the second half.

Each fan will be limited to a maximum of three alcoholic beverages, served in non-blunt containers. Sales and consumption will be prohibited after the final whistle and through itinerant vendors.

Exceptions to the aforementioned limits will apply to "duly authorized VIP areas."

It's worth recalling that in September, during an Ordinary General Assembly of the League, Vitória de Guimarães spearheaded the call for a review of the legislation prohibiting the sale of low-alcohol beverages in Portuguese football stadiums – a rule that has been in effect for over 40 years.

At the time, the club argued that a direct link between moderate alcohol consumption and incidents of violence in stadiums had not been proven.
