After winning the just held presidential election of the
undefinedthat held at the CAF 39th Ordinary General Assembly at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa on Thursday, March 16.
The 57-year-old who also the president of the Madagascar FA got 34 votes from the 54 federations that make up CAF to beat Hayatou who got 20.
His first task when he resumes office as president of CAF will be to audit it but he is not doing that out of suspicion of Hayatou’s regime.
"I will go to Caf headquarters and look inside this house - after that, I audit. It's not a suspicion but it's management now - an obligation," Ahmad told .
"When (we) finish the managerial and financial audit, I will call the press to talk about the guide that we can follow. Step-by-step, that is our obligation."
Hayatou had previously claimed that he left over $150m in CAF’s reserve.
