Son slits mother's throat because she told him to get a job

Takahiro Miki, 42, from Tokyo, was arrested by the Tokyo Police for allegedly stabbing his mother, 74, with a kitchen knife.

The unemployed man has been charged with one count of attempted murder.

Police investigations revealed Miki attacked his mother as she prepared to go to work on Friday morning. Miki took a kitchen knife and slashed the throat of his mother.

Police said the septuagenarian was in stable condition at a hospital. During interrogations, Miki told investigators that two days before the incident, his mother told him that she does not know how long she will have the energy to work.

She urged him to find a job before she retires.
