A Clear Reason for the Switch. Leeds Lands Swiss Stalwart, Reunites with Familiar Coach
According to AFP, Elvedi has penned a three-year deal with his new club. This move reunites him with coach Daniel Farke, who previously managed him at Bundesliga side Gladbach.
"He's a major reason why I've changed clubs. Although he only coached me for a year, I really enjoyed working under him as a player. He taught me a lot, and I'm sure I'll continue to learn a great deal from him now," stated the 29-year-old center-back. Elvedi is Leeds' fourth summer signing, following James Trafford, Harry Wilson, and Tarik Muharemovic.
Elvedi featured in all of Switzerland's matches at this year's World Cup, where they reached the quarter-finals. There, they were eliminated by the reigning champions and eventual World Cup runners-up, Argentina.
