Approximately 30 individuals sought medical attention following celebrations in Oslo marking Norway's victory over Brazil in the World Cup Round of 16, TV2 reported, citing the capital's police. According to authorities, 30 injured people were admitted to hospital emergency rooms. Oslo Police Chief Eivind Hammerwold stated that all injuries were minor.
TV2 reported that around 100,000 people watched the fireworks display celebrating the national team's triumph. Norway defeated Brazil 2-1 to advance to the World Cup quarterfinals for the first time in their history, where they are set to face England.
Hundreds of thousands of Norwegians poured into the streets to celebrate this historic success. The 'rowing celebration,' which has become synonymous with Haaland and the team, was performed on the pitch after the match, as well as throughout Norway's streets and squares, as the nation revelled in perhaps its greatest victory.
"I wish I was on those streets. I wish I was part of that. Everyone should have fun. All of Norway should have fun. You just have to enjoy the moment," Haaland commented after the match.
