The Nigerian trio of Patience Okon George, Yinka Ajayi and Margaret Bamgbose failed to progress to the women’s 400m final.

Okon George finished seventh in a time of 52.60s, Ajayi who ran in Heat 2 finished sixth in a time of 52.10s.

Bamgbose ran a Season’s Best (SB) during her heat but finished eighth in Heat 3 in a time of 52.23s.

Tosin Oke failed to advance to the finals of Triple Jump. The African champion was drawn in Group B of the men’s triple Jump but didn’t register a jump in his first attempt.

He jumped a distance of 16.14m in his second attempt and improved by 3cm in his third attempt.

That wasn’t enough as he finished 12th in his pool and 25th overall.

Glory Nathaniel qualified for the semifinal of the women’s 400m Hurdles. She ran in Lane two in the final heat and finished 3rd in 55.30s, a Personal Best (PB) for her.

She will be the only Nigerian in action at Day 5 in the semifinal of Women’s 400m hurdles.
