Flying Eagles end group A clash with draw

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria scored in the dying minutes to snatch a draw with Junior Elephants of Cote'd Ivoire at the last group A encounter of the ongoing African Youth Championship.

Flying Eagles went down in the first minute of the game after Degbole Franck fired home from inside the box. But Christian Pyagbara equalized in the fourth minute.

The Ivorians dominated proceedings and were rewarded in the 10th minute when Chris Bedia restored the Ivorian lead.

The Flying Eagles searched for an equaliser and they had it when left-back Mustapha Abdullahi was hacked down in the box.

Team skipper Musa Mohammed stepped up to convert the resultant spot kick for his third goal of the tournament.

The entertaining match ended 2-2 with the Ivorians crashing out of the tournament and failing to qualify for the Youth FFIA World Cup.
