Check out the first computer that you can roll up and wrap around your wrist

It utilizes the first bendable touchscreen display that when it catches on, could open up new ways for electronics that can flex like paper to be without any damage to the display.

Specifications of the Wove wearable computer

Imagine an iPad that you can turn into a slap bracelet and the result you get is Wove, the first computer you can literally roll up and wrap around your wrist.

Wove is the first product from the stable of electronics company Polyera. The device functions a lot like a smartwatch but with the extra ability to curve and bend. It also utilizes the first bendable touchscreen display that when it catches on, could open up new ways for electronics that can flex like paper to be without any damage to the display.

Wove only came about two and a half years ago, but the company behind it was founded about 10 years ago. The band is made possible thanks to Polyera’s patented digital fabric technology, a platform the company has been using to make flexible transistors and displays since the company was founded.

The Wove OS connects to your smartphone over Bluetooth and is based on the Android operating system. The first prototype hits the market in December but the first edition is scheduled to go out to customers in mid-2016, according to Polyera co-founder, Inagaki.

“We’re trying to open up a very different kind of platform around low-power, persistent, large display on the body,” says Inagaki according to Techcrunch.

No price has been set yet for the band but the company says it will cost less than the least-expensive Apple Watch.
