Founder of Hotels.ng has 5 brilliant final year project ideas for you

Mark Essien tweeted some brilliant autonomy-based final year project ideas for undergraduates and could have long-term impact on the history of Nigerian technology.

Founder of Hotels.ng, Mark Essien

His intellect, whilst leading him to make often controversial statements and declarations, also leads the German-educated entrepreneur to do a lot of brilliant ideating, especially on Twitter.

Last week, he tweeted some brilliant autonomy-based final year project ideas for undergraduates and could have long-term impact on the history of Nigerian technology. Here are are five of those ideas:

  • Pothole detection for self-driving cars.
  • Edge detection in self-driving cars for roads without edge lines.
  • Safety distance calculations for self-driving cars when irrational motor-bike riders are recognized.
  • Slowing down car when flashing torchlights are detected on road ahead (with automatic inner light activation). I think he is trolling with this one but there is a truly Nigerian use case.
  • Siren detection and country appropriate reactions in self-driving cars.
