Wike receives Certificate of Return, promises fair government

Wike received the certificate on Monday, April 20, 2015, in Port Harcourt, after winning the April 11 governorship elections in the state.

Rivers state Governor-elect, Nyesom Wike has received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

After receiving his certificate, the governor-elect promised to run an all- inclusive government and to meet the needs of the all Rivers people without bias.

Wike also promised that he would not witch-hunt anyone during his administration.

The governor-elect, who contested the elections of the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), beat All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Dakuku Peterside to emerge winner.

The state APC has however alleged that the elections were rigged and has concluded arrangements to challenge Wike’s victory at the election tribunal.
