Some yet-to-be identified cultists, on Monday, July 25, 2022, inflicted life-threatening injuries on four traditionalists in Osun State after shooting them.

“The perpetrators are suspected cultists that killed the prince. We were informed that Oro devotees would move round the town for cleansing after the prince was shot dead, and we all stayed indoors.

“In the early hours of the morning on Monday, we heard gunshots in some parts of the town and we were told that four people, said to be Oro devotees, were injured,” the eyewitness stated.

However, as the cultists were attacking the traditionalists, the Osun Police Command got a distress call, after which it deployed its operatives to the community.

On their arrival, the policemen engaged the cultists in an exchange of gunfire, leaving them to run for their lives.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Osun police, Yemisi Opalola said those injured have been rushed to different hospitals for treatment.
