Of late, weddings have become a competition to the extent that people would go above and beyond to buy expensive things to please guests after which they're left with huge debts to start their married life with.
Couple serves ‘gari soaking’ to guests at wedding reception (video)
A newly wedded couple decided to defy the trend of rich buffet that is seen at wedding receptions lately and served guests with what is commonly known as ‘gari soaking’ and some soft drinks instead.
However, a yet-to-be-identified couple chose to cut their coat according to their cloth. Guests who attended the marriage event were served with gari, groundnut and soft drinks at the reception.
A video circulating on social media shows some guests gathered around the table and enjoying bowls of garri and groundnut while music plays in the background.
Twitter user, @jefe_says who posted the video on the microblogging site captioned it: “Couple serve garri and groundnut to guests.”
Meanwhile, in another news, a groom has warmed the hearts of many people after he carried the twin sister of his bride who has a disability to the wedding ground like a baby.

Then Morgan Watkins replied by explaining: "That is why I did it, she won't ever get married, she doesn't have interest in dating or anything but I just want her to have that special moment her sis got. I've dreamed of this since ever thinking about getting married!
"She's my girl. Where I go she goes & I always told myself I'll never be with a man who doesn't love her and accept her just like I do. Bless you, mama! Your girls are lucky to have you!"
