5 children killed as a bomb planted in a farm explodes in Katsina
Police say the five kids killed in the explosion were children of one Alhaji Adamu of Yammama village.

The victims died on the spot, while six other children, who sustained injuries are currently receiving treatment at General Hospital in Malumfashi.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Gambo Isah said the explosion occurred around 11:30 am.
According to the police spokesperson, the five kids killed in the explosion were children of one Alhaji Adamu of Yammama village in the Local Government.
He said, “DPO Malumfashi reported that a loud sound was heard inside the farm of one Alhaji Hussaini Maikwai. On receipt of the information, the DPO led Operation Puff Adder to the scene.
“The explosion killed five children that belonged to one Alhaji Adamu of Yammama village in Malumfashi local government area. It also injured six other children, who were sitting under the tree inside the farm.”
Isah further said that the children had gone to the farm to cut grass for animals.
He, however, added that the scene of the incident had been preserved as detectives are currently investigating the explosion.
Armed bandits have been responsible for many attacks in Katsina state, but no group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
