Popular socialite Mufu Lanihun dies at 69

Popular Ibadan-based businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Mufutau Ajadi Lanihun, is dead.

Lanihun, 69, died at his residence in Ibadan on Sunday March 29.

According to Vanguard, a senior member of the Lanihun family confirmed the demise of the Ibadan top shot.

Lanihun, who was the Giwa Adinni of Yoruba land, had reportedly not been in public circle for a while due to his protracted illness.

Fondly called "Olowo ti nfowo sanu” – an alias he got due to his extreme generosity; Lanihun contributed immensely to the education sector in Oyo State, he built schools and gave scholarships to many indigent students.

His remains have been buried at his residence in Oke-Ado, Ibadan according to Islamic rites.
