President expresses concern over poor service by telecom operators

He also expressed optimism that President Buhari would look into the challenges faced by the telecommunication companies, so as to enable them provide quality services to Nigerians.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communications Technology,  Dr. Tunji Olaopa, while addressing newsmen at the state house said the President expressed concerns about the quality of service offered by telecom companies in Nigeria.

Olaopa was at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to brief the President on his ministry’s activities.

He said “The President was concerned about the quality of service by telecommunication operators. The President is very concerned about the whole issue of privatisation that is hindering the investments in the ICT infrastructure and that he will personally champion this.”

Adding that “The President talked about the potential of the ICT sector in generating employment.”

He also expressed optimism that President Buhari would look into the challenges faced by the telecommunication companies, so as to enable them provide quality services to Nigerians.
