We want to know who your Miss Nigeria 2018 is

As the finale of the Miss Nigeria 2018 pageant holds tonight, we want to know, what makes a beauty queen and who is your top pick.

If you are lucky enough, you might have been born with the genetic make-up to match an African goddess, sculpted straight from the core of Olumo Rock. This would mean the perfect height, a symmetrical arrangement of your facial features Pythagoras would approve with his ruler and protractor, skin without blemish like the dunes of the Sahara desert, and curves proportioned for the perfect silhouette performance. But if that is all you have, can we really crown you the queen of this vast land?

To begin with, Nigeria is home to over a hundred beautiful tribes, meaning that our women can be beautiful in at least a hundred different ways. The land is truly blessed, rich in every skin tone through the spectrum that is black. Abundant with any body shape. You name it, we have it. It’s all on our Heritage. But...and that is a big BUT, the question still remains, what does it take to be the Queen of queens. What should we be looking for when it comes to the crown.

Through the Miss Nigeria pageant organised by The Daily Times as they have for 61 years now (yes, before independence we had a Miss Nigeria), the ladies have been put through a series of tasks to show the country what they have to offer by way of intelligence, creativity, independence and interdependence.

As social conceptions of what characteristics the ideal woman should comprise of continues to evolve and widen in scope, it becomes even more difficult to figure out who is the most qualified for the office of Miss Nigeria. So we put it to you, as fellow Nigerian concerned with the the state of affairs regarding our international representation, what qualities should we be looking for in this year’s contest?

Should we be after the curvy popular African classic, the slim built world specification? Should points be awarded for brains? Articulation? Composure? What should we be looking for, in the ultimate Nigerian lady?

We want to hear your thoughts in the comment section, and you can decide,  who your Miss Nigeria 2018 is.
