The right foods for your skin [Pt. 1]

The best way to getting a good skin begins with good nutrition so watching what we eat is important.

 

Skin care basics include; Eating the right food, drinking plenty water, exercising, getting enough sleep, not smoking and limiting your intake of both caffeine and alcohol. The health of your skin begins with good nutrition. New, living cells continually replace the dead cells on the surface of the skin. The growth of the new cells is dependent on vitamins, minerals and hydration.

Here are nutrients essential for your skin:

Vitamin A: Its antioxidant is essential for the growth and renewal of new skin cells. Topically applied may boost collagen production and promote skin cell turn over. Foods rich in vitamin A are; Egg yolks, dairy, carrots, spinach, sweet potatoes.

Vitamin B: Vitamin B2, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B9, Vitamin B12, and Biotin (AKA: Vitamin B7 or K) are all great B Vitamins that make your hair healthier, along to help your long hair grow longer and stronger. It increases fatty acid in the skin and this promotes exfoliation and firmness. Foods rich in vitamin B are; Yeast, eggs, liver, vegetables.

Vitamin C: Vitamin C helps with building blocks of collagen. The protein gives the skin its structure, tone and elasticity. The foods rich in vitamin C include: Citrus fruits, Broccoli, Pepper, Tomatoes and Berries.
