Confirming the arrest, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, the state Command’s Public Relations’ Officer (PPRO), said that it happened at about 2 p.m.

"The command received a report that the suspect gave her husband (Abubakar) food with rat poison." He said.

He said the Abubakar was immediately taken to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital Kano, for treatment.

According to NAN, Haruna said the command had begin investigation into the matter and the suspect would be charged to court as soon as they are done with investigations.
