A 35-year-old man, Sabo Korau, is in trouble for infecting a 12-year-old girl with HIV

A 35-year-old man in Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria, Sabo Korau, is currently cooling his randy heels in the police cell after he was arrested for deliberately infecting a 12-year-old groundnut hawker with the dreaded Human Immuno Virus, HIV, knowing all along that he had earlier tested positive.

According to the Bauchi State PoliceCommand spokesman, Haruna Mohammed, disclosed that Sabo who has been having sexual intercourse with the girl since 2012, knew he had the disease but he had been told that if he had sex with a virgin girl, he would be cured, so he began by luring the girl into sleeping with him and has continued ever since.

Haruna added that the girl was diagnosed with the disease when she started having strange symptoms.

On October 14, one Sabo Korau, a 35-year-old male of Unguwan Dawaki, Dass council of Bauchi State, was arrested for having sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl, repeatedly, since 2012.

When the victim began to show strange symptoms, she was taken to the hospital and was diagnosed HIV positive.

Mohammed said that police’s preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect took advantage of the girl, adding that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigation was concluded.
