The baby who was reportedly found early in morning must have been abandoned in the night, naked and in the cold.

The infant who was barely breathing, was rescued and was being taken to the office of social welfare in the town when it died on the way.

"A newborn baby was found abandoned in a cardboard box yesterday under a bridge in Ado Karu Local Govt Area of Nassarawa State. The baby was taken to the Office of Social Welfare Ado Karu but unfortunately died on the way."
