A foolish 18-year-old Hillsborough County, USA man, Austin Hatfield learned the hard way that snakes are not to be toyed with as he was bitten on the lips by a poisonous four-foot long snake when he tried to kiss the reptile while swimming.

An American teenager thought snakes are respecters of humans and tried to kiss a dangerous specie only to be bitten on the lips in the process.

Hatfield is reported to have captured the Cottonmouth snake sometimes called water moccasins, which are extremely dangerous, and tried to kiss it but it revolted and bit him.
He was taken to a hospital in a critical condition though he is expected to recover.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the incident and Hatfield could face charges because he did not have a permit to keep the snake.
