According to a Facebook user, Qasim Aliy Balogun who posted the photos of the traditional marriage on his page, the woman identified as Amoke Alarape decided to be joined in marriage with the little boy as she could no longer wait for her groom to come back for the wedding.

When the photos first hit the Internet, Nigerians were aghast thinking the woman was getting married to the boy who is young enough to be her son but Balogun's explanations showed that boy was actually sitting in for his Dubai-based big brother who could not come home for his big day.
