Political thugs stab man, leaves knife in his chest

But for the grace of God, a man who had nothing to do with a political violence that erupted in Lagos would have lost his life after thugs stabbed him in the chest.

The forthcoming general elections is gradually turning out to be a do or die affair as many political thugs have taken it into their hands to unleash terror, murder, maiming and violence on opponents.

According to Linda Ikeji blog, there was a political violence about two weeks ago during an election campaign in Surulere area of Lagos.

The violence probably got out of hand and the thugs took to the streets, unleashing violence to anyone they saw and during the melee, a thug plunged a knife into the chest of a man who practically had nothing to do in the fight.

This is how Linda put it:

"Do you see the huge knife sticking out from the man's chest area? That's the knife right after it was removed.

This happened in Surulere, Lagos two weeks ago. The man was on his way to the airport to catch a flight. But because there was a lot of traffic that day, he decided to board a bike. While on his way, he encountered some election campaign hoodlums at Surulere who tried to snatch his bag. In the process, he was stabbed in the chest and the hoodlums left the knife in there and ran away.

He was rushed to the Eko hospital, Surulere, and from there moved to LUTH where the surgery was performed after two days to remove the knife.

Thankfully he's alive and recovering very well."

How long can this continue?
