Another doctor attempts suicide after swallowing 80 tablets

A few weeks after a Lagos medical doctor jumped into the lagoon, another was saved in the nick of time by his friends after he ingested 80 pills.

A cocktail of drugs

According to friends of the doctor, he had informed his Facebook friends that he was going to end it all and had swallowed 80 tablets, but his friends were quick to rally round and rushed him to a hospital.

In the Facebook post, Dr. Ajao had allegedly written:

“Finally went through with it. Ingested about 80 tablets of different drugs. If and when I die, please do remember that it was 'oro' that killed me,” he wrote in the post.

His friends were said to have appealed to him to shelve whatever plans he had on taking his life no matter the problems he was facing.

About six hours after Dr. Ajao's post, one of his friends went on Facebook to indicate that he had been found and resuscitated.

Another of his friends later posted that the situation was under control but called for prayers for him.
